Using Detect and Repair feature of Microsoft Office

I am trying to use the acrobat distiller and immediately microsoft office crashes all of a sudden. I read somewhere that for this particular problem I can try to use the detect and repair feature to check for what kind of problems it is facing, but as soon as i use it, then it asks me for a file called ZF612707.CAB that should be in the Cd of Office 2003 Professional Edition, but it is not present. Can anyone tell me if i have to reinstall office once again?

I think that the cab file that is showing in your computer has all the basic fonts installation like for example, the Arial, Times New Roman, etc for Office 2003. You could try to insert the original Office 2003 CD that you used to install Office 2003, and then follow the instructions on the screen to install the same.

I am also facing similar kind of problems. When i am trying to reinstall the office 2003 on my pc, then I am not even able to install it because the installation is asking for the zf612707.cab file. I have searched the whole CD and I cannot find it anywhere, even tried searching online, but no where it is listed. Is there anyone who can find the same file for me or perhaps can give me a download link for the same. I am afraid that if i uninstall the same office suite from my pc then I will lose or wont be able to open any outlook data at all. Please help.

Can you verify whether the CD that you are using is an official Microsoft Office 2003 CD or a copy of the same? If it is then try to uninstall and reinstall office 2003 by following the below method:

1. Click Start.
2. Click All Programs, and then open the Accessories folder (skip this step in Windows XP).
3. Click Run, and then click in the Open box.
4. Type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
5. Locate the Microsoft Office entry in the list of currently installed programs.
6. Select it, and then click Uninstall.
7. After that reinstall the office 2003 by inserting the CD in the dvd/cd drive.
