Windows Installer Update (KB893803-v2) Causing Problems

I am using Windows XP Pro SP2 here. I had configured the system recently all recent updates and patches. Once all updates were over I started installing all the required software. I installed printer driver, scanmaker, abby fine reader and many more products. I got a error while loading one of those application. The error is "Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." Can anyone provide me help on the same.

This is definitely a compatibility bug. You can collect complete information on the same in Event Viewer. You can find the information related to your issue inside it. It will give you the exact detail of file which is causing the failure and you can simply avoid it for installation. I am sure that will be fair enough to deal with the problem you are facing. If still you are getting issue just run system restore and then check back.

Go in control panel and click on add remove programs. From there you can find a section where you can see the list of windows update. On that basis you can remove which are not required. Windows update can cause bug sometime but to fix the same there are respective patches available. So that is much easier for you to deal with the problem.
