Since I was not able to find any questions made on it, so I was thinking if anyone know about some information on the release date of Nvidia Geforce GTX 800 series graphics card? If in the coming months this card will be released, so I will be using it to build a high end gaming pc for myself. I will also use the best hardware possible that will go up against this card. Thanks for any information in advance.
I read from an old news that Nvidia was preparing for the arrival of its GeForce GTX 800 series in early 2014 but till now there is no news. The idea for making this card is of course to compete with the Radeon R9 290 and 290x AMD chips. However it will be interesting to see what will be the technical specifications of these hypothetical GTX 800 series.
Nvidia has recently announced GeForce GTX 800M for laptops or notebooks. The objective of its new GPU is to play Full HD (1080p) graphic details to keep good fluidity in games. So Nvidia announces performance gains of around 15% (Ultra mode) with the GTX 880M compared to 780M, 30% (Ultra mode) with the GTX 870M compared to 770M, 40% (High) mode with the GTX 860M compared to 760M and 60% (High mode) with the GTX 850M compared to 750M.
3 months ago Nvidia have released their 780ti graphics card so I would expect the GTX 800 series to be out in about 3 to 6 months or so. I recently purchased the Xbox One just to kill some time. There was news that I heard about the 20nm GTX 880 which might be delayed until late 2014. So, it might be also possible that the 880 cards could come around at the end of this year.
