Microsoft Security Essentials error code 0x8024400a
I have installed Microsoft Security Essentials and have been using it from quite some time. It used to update properly before but now if I am trying to manually update it then it will give me an error code 0x8024400a. I have even turned on the auto update but nothing is happening? Can anyone tell me what is going on? Please help me

The error code that you are getting might be happening due to some programs or processes that could be interfering with Internet communications or either resource problems on the computer or high internet activity or recoverable database errors. Can you tell me whether you have done a new installation of Microsoft Security Essentials and it fails after the program installs? Have you tried to reinstall the antivirus and checked if it is working. Also did you check if the Windows Update is working or not? There were some users who have reported that after installing the ActiveX in their pc the problem got solved. So try this solution and test it.

Can you check the date and time in your computer, if it is not wrong or such. Also try to run a cleanup tool that will remove any kind of previously installed malware in your computer. If nothing else is working for you then you can easily try to install the Microsoft Security Essentials definitions manually, they can be obtained from the Microsoft Malware Protection Center link here - https://www.microsoft.com/security/p...?wa=wsignin1.0
