Virus: Gen:Trojan.Heur.LP.iL4@aay6Org

Hi

I urgently need assistance in getting rid of this. I was checking on my bit defender total security 2013 now and came across this virus alert.

The file C:Program Files (x86)\Acer\Acer Photo\avformat-lav-55.dll has been detected as infected. Bitdefender could not clean this item. Your computer is not virus-free. Virus name: Gen:Trojan.Heur.LP.iL4@aay6Org

Need to get rid of this ASAP please. Have spoken to one of the technicians but have been given a turn around time of 48 hours, by then my system could crash, please assist.

I thought Bitdefender was meant to stop these virus's. Not a happy camper at all

If Bitdefender is not acting on that virus then you can go ahead with Bitdefender Online scanner. There are many free online scanners that can scan your system for virus. I use this always when my antivirus is not able to clean may system. The process is safe and simple. You can find online scan from Eset, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, Panda, etc. The scanning is done through cloud support. Most of time they are prefect in catching threats and wiping out the infected file. Just try anyone of this and post back if issue is not solved.
