Nikon launches Coolpix S6600, a compact digital camera
Nikon announces the renewal of its two compact cameras at midrange. One year after the S6400 and six months after the S6500, its Wi-Fi variant, the new Coolpix S6600 brings mainly a swivel screen in a case nearly very thin.
This screen has the advantage of being adjustable in two directions, not just on the vertical axis, as is often the case, which offers framing flexibility, until self-portrait. But it is not touch, unlike the S6400, and sticks to a modest definition of 460,000 points on 2.7 inches.
It comes with, however, Wi-Fi that was launched for the S6500, which allows the remote control and then repatriate photos and videos on a phone or an Apple or Android tablet, and share Internet. Without touch screen, NFC or WPS, you must enter the key using the directional pad.
The camera also has a 12x stabilized zoom equivalent to 25-300 mm/f 3.3 to 6.3 and a retro-exposed to 16 million pixels CMOS sensor photographing and filming till 3200 Full HD at 1080/50i.
The Nikon Coolpix S6600 will go on sale on 22 August at a retail price of 200 euros.

The Nikon Coolpix S6600 has WiFi built in so that pictures can be shared quickly. This is also the first Nikon camera with Gesture Control, through which you can Swipe for taking pictures, recording videos and zoom controls when the monitor is in self-portrait mode. In addition, the Coolpix S6600 has a tilting LCD monitor and a NIKKOR lens with 12x zoom. The camera will recognize the palm of your hand and this allows you to control the camera. Palm facing left or right means moving in or out.
