CyanogenMod 10.1.1 Update With Master Key Fix Released
Cyanogen has announced the availability of CM 10.1.1, an update filling the important security flaw that was recently unveiled.
The development team of the famous alternative CyanogenMod for Android ROM has again shown great responsiveness; the nonprofit project is actually ahead of the leading manufacturers of smartphones in the correction of the "Master Key" feature.
The Cyanogen team integrated the patch when it is made available by Google and some others as well, and immediately launched the compilation and publication for all compatible devices with the CM 10.1.x. It is ahead of almost all smartphone manufacturers, while there is no direct relationship with Google.
Only Samsung have started deploying updates, more or less at the same time. But we must remember that Google had fixed the Android source code from the month of February, when the security firm Bluebox contacted them privately, and had passed on to their partners.
With its recent ROM, Samsung Galaxy S4 has always been forewarned, and HTC One is going to get the 4.2.2 update in a few days. But no other device has adopted the new source code since February.
CyanogenMod 10.1.1 is now available from the website here, or if using the function update over the air.
Re: CyanogenMod 10.1.1 Update With Master Key Fix Released
The famous Cyanogenmod ROM has updated its 10.1 version based on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, so therefore it is not yet available on Galaxy Note 2 which is still expecting its 4.2.2 update. However, Cyanogenmod passes 10.1.1 to fix security vulnerabilities. If you put this ROM on your Android, consider making the update. In addition, some corrections in the devices have been made to stabilize even more for the OS.
