Does Asrock M3A770DE supports AMD Phenom II X4 840
Right now my system is installed with Asrock M3A770DE motherboard and I would like to know does this motherboard supports AMD Phenom II X4 840 processor or not. I am talking about the AMD Phenom II X4 840 Edition Deneb 3.2 GHz Socket AM3 processor. Do you think that it can run here without bios flash?
Re: Does Asrock M3A770DE supports AMD Phenom II X4 840
I think that they are compatible with each other. This motherboard completely supports Socket AM3 processors. Currently the compatible processor list contain following CPUs:
- AMD Phenom II X6 / X4 / X3 / X2 (except 920 / 940)
- Athlon II X4 / X3 / X2 / Sempron processors
The latest version of BIOS available is 1.80. FYI, BIOS are optional. I think that you have upgraded the BIOS to latest; it could support more new processors. On the manufacturer website there is a supported CPU list. It might be outdated now. For the support of new processors, you have to take a look into the latest release notes regarding the BIOS.
Re: Does Asrock M3A770DE supports AMD Phenom II X4 840
This board provides very good very good OC results. One only needs to specify in BIOS, how many% you want to overclock the CPU, and the rest will run automatically. It could not be more real. I am also using the Phenom X6 1055 from 2.8 to 3.4 GHz taken over, and everything is stable. I was looking for a cheap motherboard that supports AM3 processor. After one or other test my choice has fallen on this motherboard from ASRock. To the motherboard, there is not too much to say. It's what's inside it. The manufacturing is good, when I have not budged. The installation went smoothly. The motherboard comes with a driver CD that installs under Windows 7 completely automatically.
