Memory Upgrade solution for Dell optiplex
I am running a somewhat old XP machine that was donated to me. Allow me to explain.
I used to have a HP machine that ran VIsta--hense my user ID. That machine died :crybaby: due to the motherboard failing.
So since I really need this thing for just about everything, a friend heard her boss (a doctor at a hospital) had this machine that he wanted to get rid of. So I was the lucky recipient. But it really runs slow. It only has 1.2 gigs of memory. My vista machine had 2 gigs.
How do I determine what is the apporiate ram-stick to get for this thing? According to the performance lable, this is a Dell Optiplex 160L, 4CPU, 2.40 Ghz, 1.25 GB of RAM.
Is this the correct information for new RAM stick?:uhm:
Re: Memory Upgrade solution for Dell optiplex
The ram upgrade depends on the motherboard specification. For that you can use the software called CPUz. This tool will tell the exact model of motherboard in your system. Also it will show the ram specification. So on that basis you can buy any similar ram product and improve the system speed. Other than this from the official website of Dell also you can order hardware upgrades.
