How to configure Port-based VLANs using NetGear GS108Tv2
I have been trying to configure "port based VLANs" using Netgear GS108Tv2, something like:
- Port 1 -> Vlan1
- Port 2 -> Vlan2
- Port 3 -> Vlan1 + Vlan2
- Port 4 -> Vlan1 + Vlan2
I had done it on my old GS108Tv1 but here even with correct VLAN membership, it does not work, because on Port 3 and 4, It was not possible to share 2 Vlans. Can anyone tell me how to set up port based VLANs with the GS108Tv2?
Re: How to configure Port-based VLANs using NetGear GS108Tv2
As far as I know that it Is really not possible, unfortunately not. The thing is port based VLANs is an extremely outdated. Other than this it is a highly unsecure technology. Why do you want to create port-based VLANs? I think that it is possible to find a way for good configuration that will work for you but for that you will need to give a details description about your goal and what you want to connect to those ports.

In my case somehow I managed to configure the port-based to work on the Netgear GS108Tv2. For that what you have to do is to set each and everyone ports on VLAN 1 to be all "U". After that create your VLANS separately by setting "U" to the ports which need to be used. That’s it.
