PayPal Shopping cart breaks down in Safari 5.05

I have a website to sell my products. Yesterday, one of my regular customers called me to tell that he can’t purchase items from my website using PayPal shopping cart. He was trying to purchase 20 items, but every time he added the item in shopping cart, it would be shown empty. Sometimes only last purchased item would show in the cart. I thought something was wrong with PayPal’s system, but after 4 hours of research I realized that the problem was with Safari. Can anybody help me sort this problem?

I too got myself a brand new Mac book pro. It had Safari pre installed on it. I was trying to purchase some items from a website which uses PayPal shopping cart. After I added 32 items to the cart and confirmed my purchase, only 2 or sometimes one purchase would be confirmed. I thought it was some problem on the website. So I visited another website, but again same problem occurred. This confirmed that there was problem with Safari or PayPal. On enquiring about it, I found out that Safari has the problem.

I too encountered the same problem with safari, so I switched to Google Chrome as my default browser. I tried Firefox too and it works fine with PayPal. Apple should fix this problem soon. It is affecting the working of many users.

You can try updating Java in your system. When this problem occurred on my system, I uninstalled and reinstalled Safari. But it did not solve the problem. Changing settings for Cookies didn’t even help. But after I updated the Java in my Mac, the PayPal started working fine.

I found out a way to solve the problem. I suggest you to follow the steps,
1) Get into the Preferences of Safari.
2) In Preferences, find the Autofill tab.
3) Click Edit > Other Forms.
4) Here you can see a list of URLs. Delete the URLs related to the website from where you are trying to purchase your desired items.
5) Now reset the safari, restart your computer.
This will solve the problem. I prefer Safari over Google Chrome for online shopping as it provides higher level of security.
