I want to know if there is any option for smoothing lines in Gimp 2.6. Gimp 2.6 slows the mouse pointer so the user can draw smooth lines. In chicken Smoothie, I get option where I can smooth the jagged lines based on percentage. It automatically clears the jagged lines to create smooth lines.
Gimp 2.6 does not provide smoothing option.First thing, Gimp is not a drawing application, but it is image manipulation software.Gimp 2.6 is the latest version which is stable. Smoothing options are available in Gimp 2.7. But Gimp 2.7 is currently under development, so expect the version you get to have bugs.
There are other drawing applications available like MyPaint for drawing raster Images and Inkscape for drawing Vector Images.
Inkscape provides smoothing using calligraphic brush tools.
The latest version of Inkscape, that is Inkscape has bugs which doesn’t allow it to work with pen tablets. Using older version like Inkscape 0.48 might help. Gimp 2.8 which has yet not released will have the smoothing options in brush dynamics.
