I think that Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet comes with Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system, so the best way to rename or edit the pdf files in an android tablet is using ES File Explorer which is a good app for that. You just have to long press on the file and a menu comes up to allow you to rename it. Hope that helps.
