Windows boots slowly due to NVidia GeForce 8400 GS GPU
Hi, i am having issue with booting up the machine. as the title implies my machine boots very slowly as since i have installed this NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GPU. Any idea what could be the problem with it? Any suggestion regarding the same will be appreciated.
Re: Windows boots slowly due to NVidia GeForce 8400 GS GPU
Are you sure like there could be some problem with the GPU only? How can you figure out this thing like whether there is some problem with the GPU only?
See according to me you should try to detach the hardware from the machine once and see whether you are getting the same problem or there is some variation? As you completed with this testing you should mentioned that thing over hear no matter whether you have resolve the problem or not.
Re: Windows boots slowly due to NVidia GeForce 8400 GS GPU
Though i am agree with the above user but still if suppose you are quite sure as there could be some problem with the card that you are having then you should try to install the driver once in the machine. Because i have heard that drivers are quite essential program prior to work with the hardware. Thus, see if they are not having the perfect driver installed in the machine then obviously it will have problem in the machine. this things are not that easy to make out whether there is some problem or not, so it is always better to reinstall them once.
Nevertheless, can you please mentioned how much time the machine take to boot? Because see once we starts installing programs and application it will surely affect the booting time little bit but that doesn’t really means the booting time is slower.

I am not sure whether this is actually because if the GPU or not, but still i would like to recommend you that you should try to load very fewer program at startup or simply nothing if possible.
Re: Windows boots slowly due to NVidia GeForce 8400 GS GPU
similarly i have the same opinion as the above user like you should do something with the operating system you have installed.
See i have mentioned some of the steps to boot the machine bit faster.
- Turn on your computer, and hold down delete.
- In the BIOS window, look for the Boot Menu option.
- Choose the QUICK BOOT to turn off memory test
- Make sure the hard drive comes first in the BOOT ORDER.
- Turn off any logo displays.
- Restart

I am agree with the above user but you can have some more tricks as well in order to load the system quickly such as,
Disable ON BOARD sound and GRAPHICS,
BOOT MENU Default Settings
Eliminate Boot Up Passwords.
Kill Resources HOGS.
Disable the Indexing Service for faster booting
But even after doing all this thing if you are still having the same problem then simply there is some problem with the operating system installed, thus if possible you should try to reinstall it.
