Upgrade the CPU of Acer Travelmate 240
I have been trying to get more and more out of an old TM240 but at last the battery was hampered. For this reason i have purchased a 2.8 P4 HT (SL7DS). As the manualy says that it would work perfectly with this motherboard and i also hope that it might be compatible becuase the laptop contain 852 chipset. I also have the latest BIOS installed but the huge drawback i am not able to install it?

The VGA connection will probably be soldered on the motherboard of the crate so you had to remove it. Then you may replace the cpu in theory, it is only the question of whether the fan is in there with your making. that you could find out in the spare part you UDEM part list you verify whether the same fan as there is a TM240 model with faster CPU.

The max. Power (TDP), which can now give it built Pentium processor to its environment in the unit / is allowed, according to Intel-sheet 27 watts, as opposed to the original Celeron processor with only max. 21 watts.
You may, however, is the device from the manufacturer, designed so that it also increased the max. Power dissipation can handle, ie, could dissipate to the ambient (room air).

Since I also addressed the retrofitting these laptops think (from craft interest, economically makes probably no sense), and I did not know much about it, I would be interested to know how actually the nominal clock frequency of the processor core 2 GHz (Pentium M-760) is reached? If the products obtained by multiplying the internal processor FSB? Original, the FSB of the TM-2410 with the Celeron, 400 MHz, the Pentium M-760, however, requires nominally for the core 2 GHz 530 MHz FSB. Thus would the 2 GHz in the TM-2410 did not reach with its FSB 400 MHz and thus achieves the desired performance only a very limited extent.
Re: Upgrade the CPU of Acer Travelmate 240
As the socket 430 is compatible with the series T7200/7400/7600 well as the T5500 and T2300 and the like to.
Unfortunately, it is said that the chipset supports the bus more, so you may have a CPU that works with small buses.
The one that remains is to do the test because the T2300 is rarely used to find it on the forum that on ebay ...
NB updated the bios with the latest version ...
