HI, I am very former user of this phone as I have mentioned in the title, but the thing is like I haven’t installed the OS7 in the phone though it is capable. I was wondering as some of the BB user has surely updated his software that’s OS7, so wanted to know how is the performance of the phone after this firmware installation? Is it worth updating the firmware which I have mentioned in the title? need honest suggestion regarding the same, thanks for any.
I have tested this OS with almost different 5 mobiles and as far as BB 9900 is concerned I would say I have noticed average performance which were actually expected but nothing extra ordinary. Anyways see I have mentioned some good things so that you can have better idea about the same.
Email deliverance and led light is quite good in IMO, but email attachment handling still sucks in comparison to other platforms like android and iOS5. But apart from that you can have great Keyboard with the mobile.
And some factors which I didn’t like after the update such as,
Camera, Internet, Battery life, application (the most awful section), Media.
With concerning to all this thing you’ll get awful small screen to do anything on and music Player is still feeble.
as mentioned above I am also not that happy with the BB once again, as I have updated the firmware and was expecting so many good things but still it seems like the OS appears outdated.
according to me, I will most likely part company with almost everybody else that replies here but I will say that if you are pleased with Samsung Galaxy then stay with it rather than having the this blackberry phone and thinking about updating the firmware. Though I am not saying like BB 9900 a awful device but still on the other hand if you have a device that you are glad with that does what you require it to do then my advice is stick with it. Thus in my opinion the 9900 is not sufficient of a game changing device to give up a device that you like for it. I have experienced approximately each blackberry that at&t make available to public as well as many of the android devices. That is probably the most objective advice you'll get here.
I am not getting why people have such huge problem with the phone after updating the phone but still according to me it really relies on your own requirements. If you like media, applications, browse the internet, capturing photos, then see blackberry is not the device you should have. It is a nice design but in terms of OS (that’s the os7) and functionality it is behind the times. I have one so I am giving you an honest opinion. The OS is outdated and is going away as the day passes because there are numerous option a user can have.

Rather a rapid exploration around this forum will assist you understand that a enormous majority of the blackberry bold devices are being arbitrarily bricked after charging, thus according to me you should get the phone which is either having android OS. I am not that happy with the performance of os7. Though I am having another mobile but still I can say that with the BB 9900 as well, you’ll not get that expected result with the phone.
Thus I would rather suggest you to stick with the OS which is installed currently in the device and not to look for the OS7.
I am just agree with the above user as I have heard that the phone which comes with this OS loaded are the only good device with their performance and the reason behind that is like they have very good hardware support.Quote:

But when it comes to updating the firmware of any phone then this is quite ridiculous IMO.
As you have mentioned all the things like if you don’t need media, application, internet browser…so I would say what remaining? As I am having the device and really I am quite happy with the same though it has quite older OS at present, and that’s why I have just expected the user opinion about the OS7 with the BB 9900.Quote:
