Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
At present i am uisng the Asus G73JH notebook mostly for gaming purposes. this notebook is capable to run most of the games without any issues and lags etc. Yesterday i planned to play Crysis. installed and played it about 10 minutes. after i have noticed that the gpu temp is 82 celsious. I dont think that it is normal. However when the system is idle, the temp is 60 celsious. Everyone know that it is Very expensive laptop,. So i just want to make sure that whether the temps are stable or not as well as the condition.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
I have exactly the same problem the PC turns off after few minutes of games, when I run the games plain desktop background with a parameter it will turn off in a few seconds, but when I play window mode and parameter its low lasts 5 to 10 minutes!
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
Actually you may be right I will express a hypothesis in any case it gonna have to deal with this problem because the components will not take long at this rate. But I still doubt as to the wholesale fouling of your machine remains off for the 10 minutes time in my opinion where dust is more likely to get is just used as it is drawing air and extraction of that hot and so that's where I think fans are most likely to become clogged with dust. But you re-read, actually it looks like what I had in the past on an ASUS G2 which was racing fans as turbines because nothing and no breakdown by removing the back I saw fouling fan not with dust bunnies, but grayish cream once cleaned it blowing at all. The worry is that this G73 fans are all too accessible after removal.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
Unfortunately, I also have problems with my G73JH. I recently purchased Starcraft 2, and certainly since then been 5 - 10 times the following error: After playing a bit, usually the screen goes black and it is only briefly heard the sound. Then dipped again at the picture, but frozen. Then the laptop reboots. Now I looked up and saw something that could either be due to the temperature of the GPU, or even to Starcraft 2 itself because there's probably NEN bug that makes the graphics card overheats limp to the PC for security reasons. However there is a workaround for this bug. I tried that and unfortunately the error still. Since I also with Dragon Age a few times the same mistake I did think that there are probably still lying on the laptop. 've Also measured the temperature of the GPU-Z graphics card and is over 90.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
I suggest you redo the thermal paste on the GPU with Artic Silver 5 or the Noctua NT-H1. The paste is made in asus frankly not that great (on G73Jh). You should give it a try.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
You'd better bring a significant reduction in temperature. However, I would probably lose because the warranty and I do not really. Alternatively, I could probably either wait for a new BIOS that brings any remedy or repair the laptop to pick up and leave. Whether it does or what ever is possible, but is probably quite uncertain when I read other posts on the net.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
After contact with the support from Asus, but I should install the latest firmware (from 206 to 209). No sooner said than done right, then again the same shit.
Added to this is that Windows is no longer recognized as a valid license and the keyboard backlight has failed completely.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
My notebook has been repaired four times (within the first year!), Was not rendered practically useful two months, once came back with mud on the display, incorrectly used keyboard, display wrong employed. After fiddling I have such a neat time warranty from Asus types of opinion, we went to the repair company to repair Bitronic apparently accurate and not so trashy.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
There might be many reasons for your GPU overheating. No one can tell what is the specific reason or cause of this because no one know what you have in your Notebook and how you are running it. Also we dont know whether your Notebook is capable to handle Crysis or not. I hope that you know what Crysis game is and how much system resources it needs in order to play effeciently. it will take everything which it needs to be. so if your Notebook configuration is not capable of this game, then you will surely end up like this. So do not run such games which your system resources cannot get hold of it.
Re: Asus G73JH Notebook GPU overheating
I reiterate what I had already said on the G73JH I owned before this G53SW, the ATI latter only works properly and especially its ventilation system with the drivers of ASUS support site in short those delivered home with the machine: a person has already paid the price for this horrible noise and overheating of the breakdown of the installation of catalysts from AMD / ATI taking no account of the fact that the CG has been especially modified in which only the ASUS drivers from home are able to correctly handle without overheating and silent operation.
