How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
I am having the intel pentium 4 HT processor on my computer and currently, I am just having 1 GB RAM in that. I want to put Windows 7 in this (32x or 64x) but don’t know that if 1 GB RAM will be sufficient for this. Other than this, I am also wondering that if this system can be operated with Windows 7 or not. I am really very confused so I will really appreciate if someone can give me some good reply on this. Thank you so much in advance for replying.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
I really do not believe that P4 series with HT will be able to do with x64. It will be better for you can stick with the x86. Talking about the RAM, you can get 2 gigs of ram. With this, you will be able to run the windows 7. For the security, I am making use of the free Avast as well as free malwarebytes. This consumes very small memory in the system and best to protect your computer.

I am not agree with the point of using two different security software at the same time. As far as I know, if you use two different security software at the same time then your system will become very slow. So I will never recommend anyone to do so.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
The Pentium 4 (code name: Willamette) is a complete redesign of Intel. The frequencies of the entry-level models are at 1.4 and 1.5 GHz. Originally, its clock speeds of up to 5 GHz. The Pentium 4 has with its predecessor, the Pentium 3, based on the PentiumPro, little in common. If you look at the internal structure of the Pentium 4 at closely, there was some upheaval. But not only internally, it looks different. Also, to the processor around a lot has changed.
The Pentium 4 is indeed an ordinary socket processor. But he needs a new motherboard plus processor socket (Socket 423). This is a huge heatsink with fan. Everything is bolted together directly with the PC chassis. Thus, a new housing is necessary to have the proper fittings. The housing, as well as the power supply, have the ATX specification version 2.03 is based, since the power supply are connected via two additional connector to the motherboard needs. Intel has taken these measures due to the high power consumption of its processors. And thus rule out problems with the electricity supply, as it could occur in the Athlon systems.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
I would like to tell you that the Pentium 4 is also available in a special small form factor (SFF) version with smaller size and power consumption. This version is designed for compact computer designs.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
The Hyper-Threading (HT) in the Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz software allows from two to see instead of a processor. HT Technology allows multiple programs to execute without delay. Here a computer's performance by up to 25 percent has increased. Required for Hyper-Threading Technology requires a computer system with an Intel Pentium 4 with Hyper-Threading, a chipset and BIOS that support, and an operating system that is optimized accordingly. The increase in performance can still vary depending on the specific hardware and software. Hyper-Threading provides the computer users in two ways to enhance performance.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
I have installed Windows 7 home premium on the system with below configuration.
- 3.0Ghz Intel Pentium 4 HT 1 MB L2
- 1 GB DDR2 533Mhz ram
- 80 GB HDD
- GPU Intel (R) Express Chipset Family 82915G/GV/910GL (8MB dedicated VRAM)
- SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
If you work with this type of windows with this type of equipment that no longer perform well you need a good processor and enough RAM but this windows works faster than the eye do not think it advisable to install in small teams and with the drivers would have enough problems with this because in order to get to and they work perfectly with descargarce drivers for windows 7.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
Due to the enormous power consumption and heat generation resulting thereby in the Pentium 4 (Prescott), Intel has set the development of the Pentium 4 core. The Pentium 4 571J 3.8 GHz was finally concluded. Instead, Intel uses a slightly modified core-Prescott (Prescott 2M). The new processor combines low-power transistors, strained silicon (strained silicon) rapid copper interconnects and a new dielectric material with a low K-value (low-k dielectric). In addition, Intel has a new power-saving feature called Enhanced Intel Speedstep Technology (EIST), briefly introduced Speedstep. During operation, some Pentium 4 variants reduce its clock speed to 2.8 GHz and the supply voltage (E0 stepping), which provides significant energy savings and lower cooling costs. Nevertheless, more powerful cooler than their predecessors are necessary.
Re: How much RAM to use with Intel pentium 4 HT?
I think, 1 GB of RAM is enough for this. As RAM is not the only factor to raise the performance of the system. It is overall system configuration that affects the performance. So RAM should be according to your system configuration.
