PCI-e bus failure on Asus P6T motherboard

just released the two cards in the P67 system. The 6600GT worked without any problems at all. The 7900gtx seems to be toast. I have a message tone but no picture and hear 8 short beeps weak. I think my old vid card is still under warranty as well. I just checked in and buy eVGA few months before they in progress necessitate list of the life span service contract. I wonder what they will offer as a replacement.

Well, I just ordered an EVGA GTX 550 Ti from the egg as a replacement. It seems to fit the bill pretty well. January 6 pin power connector and has a total length cover to vent air from the back of the box, much like my old 7900GTX was created. Also, I guess that can be used as a platform for backup in case of trouble, because the graphics are not completely horrible.

The TDP of the 7900GTX was about 85W in a 550Ti think it's around 115W or less. So going to get a bit warmer, but probably not a noticeable difference. No increase in fan speed could not match.

I would bet that the GPU will not make much difference in CPU temperature from the change in the environment inside the case, in view of the fact that the card must tire out all the heat to the outside of the case. most horrible case is you could endeavor to run one of the configurations of age with known temperatures and see if there is a negligible difference GPU temperature change and then discover out what if any difference, and adjust their performance accordingly.

We appreciate everything they do in the world of testing the heat sink. For myself used their results in my favor on more than one occasion.

One reason I went with the eVGA version 550Ti is due to the fact that you are talking about. The eVGA card cover goes all the way back to the PCI slot covers without interruptions or gaps and other cards I saw that they were cheaper there were differences between the slot covers and the shroud. And while the GPU gets a little more when loaded, I think that at idle (like when I'm testing a heat sink, the latest in GPU power consumption should actually a little less or nothing. They have come a long way with power management on them over the past 5 years.

Even I have a few quirks with this board damn happening. Now I'm having spontaneous reboots vcore unstable. Until recently, I set 1.2815 (or something) in the BIOS with LLC on, have a stable charging voltage 1304, with very occasional rebounds to 1296 in accordance with all CPU-Z. Now with that established in the same setting in the BIOS was jumping to about 1.38 vcore on load P95. Now I have to set at 1.26 or so, and I'm still seeing the charging voltages around 1.328 to 1.336 volts, with LLC enabled. CLL with disabilities, I see horrible vdroop under load, like I used to do when new. Furthermore, the first spontaneous reboot today was in the computer room while I was making a run and made the 1 long and 3 short vid soundcard beep code problems. He closed with the power button and then restarted and came after OK. I'm not feeling any confidence in the damn Asus motherboard at the moment.
