Hi All,
My samsung external hardrive just stopped getting detected suddenly, I use Windows XP OS.
When I connect hard drive to Laptop - it starts blinking as normal. But when I go to C: to see if its there... not detected at all.
not sure whats happening.I am worried abotu the data I have ... don't want to loos it :( Please help
It could be an issue with the usb cable that you are trying to connect to the hard drive, have you tried some other usb cables? Did you try to connect the same Samsung Portable external hard drive to some other computer to see if it is not problem with the external drive itself? How old is this SAmsung external drive anyways, is it under warranty, if so and no physical damage is done then try to replace and get a new one.

Hello so myabe there is issue with your Hard drive. so as gonzo said if its under warrenty then send back it to Samsung. i am sure that they will provide you another one or they will fix your issue.
