Not able to compile vmmon in VMware 7.1.4 on redhat enterprise 6.1
Stupidly I upgraded a workstation Red Hat Enterprise 6.0 to 6.1 yesterday. VMware does not start, because the module is not loaded vmmon. As the symbol definition smp_ops goes wrong. Any bright ideas in a rapid software patch?

I encountered the same trouble. How to find the problem is caused by "symbol smp_ops definition"? Currently, I am creating the core of previous work (2.6.32-71.29.1) by default in grub.conf as a impermanent answer previous to the patch is obtainable.

You by now sbe acquainted with this, but I imagine worth mention: red hat Linux 6 is only support as guest operating system Workstation 7.x, not as a host operating system.
When updating from a supported operating system to another operating system without support, may not be a surprise that breaks the workstation

Am also disappointed by VMware. Not simply have the products with the luminous “Cloud” labeled to transport worth to customers.
Me too, I have an eye on KVM. An earlier version was too rough for me. But I was told that KVM is improving rapidly, because most cloud providers for public use and improvement. Therefore, I will give another chance to KVM.
