keyboard layout changed after flashing with another ROM in HTC chacha
Hi, I have currently bough my first smart phone but I figure out as the software which is actually installed in the phone was completely different and because of that only I have installed the euro or asia ROMs in the mobile. and because of this all the keyboard symbols are actually changed according to other languages.
How do I get it to previous mode? Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Re: keyboard layout changed after flashing with another ROM in HTC chacha
you can do it with but only by flashing your phone with another ROM, I mean to say you have to flash back your stock ROM because that actually contains the suitable keyboard layout in /system/usr/.
You probably just require to modify “/system/usr/keylayout/vision-keypad.kl” and possibly “/system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl” as they're both plain text files, but with unix line endings
On a UK QWERTY Desire Z:
Key 21 is Y
Key 44 is Z
If your files have them round the other way, it should just be a simply case of swapping them and rebooting

Thanks for the suggestion but till I am not getting what could be the problem with the phone thus, I think I must have to hire any expertise person in order to get it work again.

If suppose you are not getting anything from there then you should try to visit HTC support center as they are the only people who will help you with changing the layout. Though this is too easy but if suppose you are not getting how to do that then you should not do this one your own because changing any values in the text files can either make very doo difference and at the same end wrong values can corrupt system files.
