How to install blu ray drive in ps3 slim from fat ps3?

I want to ask that if there is some way by which I will be able to install the blu ray drive from the fat ps3 in the ps3 slim? I am asking this over here because my blu ray drive that is used in the ps3 slim is not able to read the disk. It might be sitting there putting the game disk within an out for ages till it finally functions. I have tried a blu ray disk cleaner but that was not helpful. There is no problem with the normal DVD but blue ray is not working with that. I will really appreciate each reply for this. Any advice would be a great help thanks all.

I do not think that this is possible to do. But if you want then you will be able to reset the blu ray player and for that you will have to press and hold the eject down for about 12 seconds. Other than this you can also try the recovery menu.

If you are going to try that then you are surely going to lose the warranbty for that and once there is some problem with that then you will not able to claim for the refund or anything else for that. So do that on your own risk. I would like to tell that the slim is using less power and generates less heat and other than this the new slim's are having 250 GB and 500 GB which is blowing out the first version of the PS3. Previous versions are all 802.11 b/g. Good Luck with that.

If you are having problem with the drive then the best option for you is to contact Sony support and send it for repairing. This will be best to do.
