AOC e2043F monitor on standby mode problem
I am using AOC e2043F monitor with my pc which works fine.
I tried using it on another CPU which worked fine for a few days, but now-a-days it goes on stand by mode(only red light glowing) whenever CPU power is turned on. I cant even go to the bios setup. CPU seems to be working fine.
Again I used it on another CPU for XP installation, which worked fine upto copying the necessary files during the OS set up. But after the set up reboot, the same problem appeared.
But the monitor still works fine with my CPU. I tried several times with other 2 CPUs, but shows the same fault everytime.
Need kind help.
Re: AOC e2043F monitor on standby mode problem
Normally, video signal is not getting received by the signal is the actual meaning of standby mode but to some extent it is receiving some indication that it is connected to a computer. If your computer is having trouble posting it may fail to send a video signal to the monitor. A failing or failed video card may be your issue as well, but failed ram is also a possibility.

Thanks Hockson.
I tried replacing the RAM and also swapping RAM slot, the problem is still there.
The most annoying fact is that the the computer works fine sometimes, but after restart it goes on standby mode again.
I also tried resetting BIOS, But result is only failure.
I wonder how it starts after keeping it turned off for a long duration.
I am using integrated VGA. kindly help me.
Re: AOC e2043F monitor on standby mode problem
Have you checked if any of the components (normally its graphics) is getting overheated? If it gets too hot it can stop functioning (ie stop sending a signal to the monitor). What is your full computer specifications by the way? I also wonder if you have low wattage problem at your house. Do you have your system on a power fuse strip?
Re: AOC e2043F monitor on standby mode problem
Thanks sir once again.
Motherboard: Foxconn G31mx-k
integrated graphics,
1 gb ddr2 RAM(hynix)
AOC e2043F monitor
Low wattage may not be an issue, because as i said these two CPUs were working great for more than last 1 year. Also i tried to run it at my friend's place too. Voltage may not be an issue sir.
Yes, overheating may cause this. But such overheating is also not felt.
Waiting for your your kind advice.
Re: AOC e2043F monitor on standby mode problem
Hibernation and standby require a system BIOS that supports ACPI or the former APM specification. To avoid problems, review the system documentation or see the manufacturer's Web site for information about how to determine whether the firmware is compliant and up to date. Updated firmware is especially important when you use the ACPI functionality.
To determine whether the computer is using ACPI features, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.
- In the Device Manager window, expand Computer.
- If the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC option is displayed, your computer is using ACPI features.
- If the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC option is not displayed, your computer does not support ACPI features.
