Mapping smartphone Data Usage to SatNav
I own a commercial vehicle and in which I travel to long distance most of the time. There is GPS navigation device from satnav is configured in the vehicle which gives me the complete navigation of the route. For this service I need to pay some charges every month. I know that this device is also capable to run using internet data usage. Does anybody recognize whether the 1 GB of data for each month that nearly all providers present is ample for a smartphone to employ for satnav utilize in a commercial vehicle, somewhat similar to 50 hours per week?
Re: Mapping smartphone Data Usage to SatNav
Google Navigation is free of charge (data dependant). HTC Premium Navigation is free of charge for 30 days, afterward subscription based. Furthermore data dependant. The simply phone-based SatNav software i've utilized is ALK CoPilot Live 8 on top of WinMob. I couldn't mistake it. Telling that, on the other hand, I make use of Google Navigation now, and can't burden that either aside from while I lose data connection.
Re: Mapping smartphone Data Usage to SatNav
A-GPS is actually just said that when you start the navigation is determined by your position already. The near mobile phone masts and not via the satellites. This makes it faster and quicker you can start your route. By the time everything is already entered, you will position the satellites and everything works calculated using standard GPS (without data connection).

Provided that local maps downloaded toward gadget, OVI Maps app is set "Offline" plus "Integrated GPS" chosen like the merely positioning way there will be no price incurred; though capability to lock on to location time wise might be significantly negotiated. I have an app (Network Monitor) which installed the WiFi data usage and network traffic shows. You can set a limit so you are warned about when you go. The A-GPS usage seems too bad but I was still always on the same card. When a new card must be loaded more data would ever be consumed.
Re: Mapping smartphone Data Usage to SatNav
In some way the cards are loaded when you calculate your route home late because when I disable all links go to GPS but never mind then I'll just see their face. Only then does it not optimal. I turn to the Internet via cell phone again then it works a lot faster. That connection is really needed. If you look at how much data is needed then it seems to fall, but good first take a look first wait and see what it really is.

Map data kind is needy of Ovi/Nokia Maps edition installed rather than mobile phone OS. Therefore if you have the similar edition of Ovi Maps resting on an S60 and a Symbian3 mobile phone, they will together make use of the similar map data. However, not every one of Ovi Maps edition are companionable with every single one phones. I make use of an application called 3G watchdog on android smartphone, on one occasion set up it monitors my usage and offers sum to date and an approximation of what you anticipate to make use of in the date range set.
