Unable to boot the system using the DVD or usb in hp pavilion
I’m having the hp pavilion I want to ask how to boot the system using the usb and DVD as I had reformatted my hard drive in the other laptop and had also created the MBR by making use of different boot CD and I had placed it back to the laptop which was not working. Well I had tested my DVD drive and its working in the other laptop. Well I have hp disk and I was able to run I t in different laptop but was not able to run it in the hp laptop. Can anyone suggest me to how to do this?

Well I think you can create the mbr while installing as it is a part of an operating system. According to me you just need to reformat the entire hard disk with the help of rescue cd and then try to restore the factory setting with the help hp recovery disk well for this you don’t need to create an mbr. And if it doesn’t work then I’m sure that your hard drive is damaged as the recovery disk is not working. I mean to say when it detects the bad hard drive it stop booting and the recovery disk stop working .

Well if it is faulty hard drive then how it can be used as a slave drive in other laptop and if it is working with that then why not as a bootable drive. I want to ask what it usually say when you put the recover disk and then reboot the system and I’m sure if the disk or the dvd drive is having the fault then it would have given pass the boot sequence which is second one and its and hard drive and it would have shown no system disk had found. Which means there is no operating system in your hard drive? I think the problem is different.

I want to ask are you able to enter in the bios and run the diagnostics which check the hard drive and what usually happen when it say that it fails to boot from hard disks or dvd do you get any error message. If just what you get from the diagnostics test and then try it again and if it still doesn’t work then install a new hard drive and see if it working or and if not then I’m sure then there might be the problem with your mother board and not with the hard drive.
