Sound Problem in Windows Vista
The sound on my computer is completely off. No audio output device or recording device can be found. Under system devices in device manager "High Definition Audio Controller" has a yellow exclamation point next to it. I pressed check for solutions and it said problem solved when I checked for updates, but it still has the following message:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available.
I have an HP Pavilion dv6 if that helps.
Do I need some new software or something?
Re: Sound Problem in Windows Vista
Your audio driver is missing. You can fix that by manually downloading that. For that click on the below link and click your exact product model. The model number is mentioned on the laptop itself. This drivers will be helpful for you whenever you install new operating system or incase if you lost any drive like what happen right now. It is necessary to find the appropriate drivers as per the operating system you have.
