AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
I heard that AMD is going to provide some kind of new processor which will boost the performance of desktop. This all is done for the better gaming performance and high quality video output. How much is this true. And does Intel is also in the same field. I found AMD's Fusion processors which are some kind of new cpu's that has both option for good power and high quality graphics. I prefer Intel is there is a similar kind of support provided.
Re: AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
Fusion processors are something which comes in combination of CPU and GPU. Intel has already launched a processor series in this. The name of the same is Sandy Bridge processor which were recently announced by Intel. Till yet AMD was not upto something, but with this new addition it is for sure that users will get a better procession and graphic power over the single processor. But the comparison between these two new processor can give you a much clear idea.
Re: AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
AMD's Fusion processors will run on the Bulldozer architecture. This makes it much more lighter and the power consumption is reduced to 18 watts. Unlike Intel, which uses HD GPU Graphics AMD on the same has invested more powerful graphics drivers. You can see the same with an example of HD 6620G. This still remains the weakest of the series which has has a clock rate of 444 MHz. It is obvious that the use of APUs will not eliminate the need for stronger chipsets for gaming and movies.
Re: AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
What I found is that according to AMD all the new processors in Fusion A-Series are compatible with 3D games and Blu-rays. You will also get help with multiple monitor configurations and support for DisplayPort along with HDMI 1.4. So that is the most recent technology you might be working on with an great processing power. AMD says that this one is the first generation of quad-core micro-architecture to present a 32-nm Llano.
Re: AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
Fusion processors are actually APU. This is an Accelerated Processing Unit which is an combination of CPU and GPU on a single chip. This is surely going to give a much higher processing power to the laptop. This chip is in direct competition with the popular Intel chip, AMD says Sandy Bridge chips offer better performance Llano in terms of graphics. In addition, this series of AMD graphics supports DirectX 11, while the Intel chip only supports DirectX 10.1.
Re: AMD Fusion processor for gaming and video
This cpu's are out and you can found them in some of the most recent laptops.AMD APU Series ensures superb high-definition graphics, productivity at the level of a supercomputer and more than 10.5 hours of battery life. AMD APU Series provides advanced features such as interface control gestures, multi-monitor support, entertainment and stereoscopic image stabilization in real time. Till yet there is positive feedback out of this.
