Re: Can I enable Multitouch scrolling in Ubuntu on Cr-48
Well I am also running Ubuntu on my Chromebook which I purchased recently. Even I am facing the same problem and not able to use two finger scrolling. I was able to use it properly but it just a few days I got this problem. That means the Ubuntu do supports this Multitouch feature. But I am not able to figure out the exact cause for such kind of problem. So let us know exactly how to do the things correct so that we could use Multitouch feature.
Re: Can I enable Multitouch scrolling in Ubuntu on Cr-48
I am also using Chromebook and I am able to use Multitouch feature on my laptop. I have installed Ubuntu 11.04 version operating system and then also I found no problem with it. I am easily able to use it, so I don’t think that there is some support kind of problem with Ubuntu. Basically then I can just advice you to check for the mouse settings. I guess some of the settings would have changed and thus you are getting problem with it.
Re: Can I enable Multitouch scrolling in Ubuntu on Cr-48
One thing I would tell you that there is nothing like not compatible with the operating system unless you provide it with supported drivers. So in order to work with the Multitouch function in your laptop you need synaptic touchpad drivers. So just check that you have those drivers on your laptop and probably supported one for Ubuntu. Also update those drivers if you already have the same. I guess this would help you to work with Multitouch support.
Re: Can I enable Multitouch scrolling in Ubuntu on Cr-48
You can try to make some basic techniques and thus check whether your this helps in solving the problem. You should turn off your laptop and then again turn it on. This might help your laptop to acquire all the settings again. Also remove the battery of your laptop and then boot up again. Once I was having this problem and this technique helped me to get back the thing I wanted. So I thought to advice you the same.
Re: Can I enable Multitouch scrolling in Ubuntu on Cr-48
I have observed that most of the users are facing this problem. So I searched for it more over web and after looking at all the facts I found one trick for fixing the same. Usually users install the Ubuntu for their chromium laptops. Then for this operating system they download the synaptic touchpad driver. This is the normal process, but here after that gets install open Ubuntu software center and then reinstall that driver again. This would make it work and you can use Multitouch function from your touchpad.

I have one more way which you can use if you are geek in fixing such stuffs. This technique is useful if all the above techniques don’t work in your case. First you have to search over web for launch pad Ubuntu fix and then you will get the step by step instruction. As I told you require much knowledge in how to work with Ubuntu and how to make certain commands in terminal. It all includes entering several commands in Terminal console.
