Which would be better for HDMI output VGA or S-video ?
Hi, I have a laptop, and a very nice HDTV, which has a port for HDMI input, thus I am planning to connect my laptop to the TV, my laptop has a VGA and S-Video output. Thus I am confused through which medium shall I connect to get the best output? And in fact I don’t know the exact which cable should I use to convert the VGA to HDMI. From where I get such a cable for me, need suggestion.
Re: Which would be better for HDMI output VGA or S-video ?
You can get this kind of cable from any leading showroom of TV as well as from the computer hardware shop, I am not sure that you’ll get the exact cable for converting VGA to HDMI, because as far as I know I have heard about the cable that converts HDMI to VGA, but not the reverse, but still I would like to recommend you that you should visit any shop from where you’ll get the exact wire hopefully.
Re: Which would be better for HDMI output VGA or S-video ?
According to me, VGA is hundred time better than the S-Video, because through the VGA you’ll get the highest resolution, a very good picture quality, off course not same as the HDMI but not bad as S-video. Thus I would simply suggest you to have the cable for VGA only, and according to me you should buy a converter instead of buying the cable because, first of all you’ll get it too costly and another thing is most probably you would not get the same what you’re expecting.
Re: Which would be better for HDMI output VGA or S-video ?
I would like to suggest you that you should buy a converter for connecting the cable because the VGA output is analog whereas HDMI is digital, to maintain the compatibility. See I would suggest you to have The Atlona VGA to HDMI Converter, which is powered via USB and it not only convert to HDMI but along with that it has a built-in image scalar to ensure that the picture on your TV looks the way it should, even though the resolution of your monitor set to different.
Re: Which would be better for HDMI output VGA or S-video ?
See, as far as I know it would be easier to connect your laptop through VGA or S-Video than to find an analog VGA to digital HDMI converter, because most probably no one use this combination actually, and I think whatever you are searching likely does not exist, thus you have to buy the actual cable, even though it is too expensive, otherwise I don’t think you would be able to connect the laptop to the HDTV.
