Torrent is causing internet connection fluctuation
Hey, I might be using internet from past 1 year .It’s always fun to use it for many reasons for chatting, downloading, surfing, etc. But for so many weeks I had being facing many problems like whenever I download something via bit torrent my internet cuts out and reconnects over and over throughout the course of the download. My computer is connected directly to my router with a lan cable so I know it’s not it’s not a wireless issue. The router is a few years old so maybe it just can’t handle the heavy traffic anymore.

You need to access your Modem/Routers configuration page:
http://192.168.0.1
http://192.168.2.1
http://192.168.1.1
http://192.168.2.0
http://192.168.1.0
One of the above should work when you type it into your Web Browser, otherwise on your Windows PC, press the Windows Key and after that make click on the run. Now on the run type cmd and after that hit the ok button. Now on the command prompt ping the above and after that make sure that IP address responding.

You could have stated earlier that you have a modem and a router. Ok, ring you ISP, as this is too difficult to handle over simple text. I tried my best, I have some ideas, but it's just gone be too hard to fix without me actually being at your house. Unfortunately, no offense, but it just may a little too difficult for you to fix this yourself given your limited knowledge with Networking , try getting a call-out technician to come to your house.
re: Torrent is causing internet connection fluctuation
The router you are using is known to cut out during torrent downloads. Basically it can't handle the concurrent connections torrents will create. Upgrade to a robust router, torrent when you don't need the IC, or turn off the torrents when you want to use the Internet. You could also try and upgrade the firmware. Normally a lot of people will post up network statics, and how bad or good it is. Let’s hope for the best next time it will not happen.
