I’m using Mozilla Firefox in my system and I was trying to block some sites which I don’t want others to use so I went through every option of Firefox but unable to find such option. i know that Firefox has facility of blocking sites, it’s just that I don’t know how can it be done? If anybody know how to do it then I really need advice and I also want to know that is there any third party software of any other way to block sites?
Yes you are right Firefox provides site blocking facility. First, download ADD-ONS software from Firefox official web site after you download that software then open your Firefox web browser and go to TOOLS-there you will find an option ADD-ONS, after that small window will appear where you can mention the any web sites name and then click on OK and your that web site will be block until you unblock that site again.
Firefox also provides you to block multiple sites by putting * symbol between sites name. For example
---http://www.abceefh.com*http://ww.techarena.in. you can also use third party software to block sites. You can download web site blocker software from internet and after installing that software, you will just have to mention the web site name in it and then it will ask for confirmation click on YES button. When you will open open your web browser the blocked site will not open and the web page will show the error saying ‘oops the link is broken’ or something like this. I hope this will help you to solve your query.
There are some antiviruses which can block web sites. You can use AVAST ANTIVIRUS. Avast antivirus gives you lots of features and one of them is website blocking feature. Download Avast antivirus from internet and install it in your computer. After installing open Avast antivirus program where will find web page blocking option on left side of the program, when you will click on that option you will the chart on the right of the program where you can type web sites name to block. Type websites name and click on OK button and the web site will be block.
I’m using Net Nanny 6.5 software to block several sites and its very effective. This software will also blocks YouTube , face book, twitter or any other websites content if you want. You can also use Dynamic Contextual Analysis to filter web content which means rather than blocking every web sites you can simply filter all the content of web pages. There is an option of WARNING which will warn you if your children or any person is trying to access some objectionable material. It’s a very good software to block web sites. You should give a try to this software.
