Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
I have been using the Firefox 4 from the time when I the Mozilla has released it. Now I came to know about the Firefox 4 and I already installed it in my computer. While using this new version I am noticing several differences in behavior. Firefox3 react to the "close" setting on Microsoft mouse center button via closing the tab. Firefox4 reacts via closing all tabs. Is this a planned transform of behavior? Can anybody advice me about this?
Re: Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
I think that you are getting some problem with new version of Firefox. So try safe mode at the beginning. When you establish Firefox in Safe Mode, each and every one of extensions are momentarily disabled and the defaulting theme is utilized. This will assist decide whether one of these is causing issue. Close the Firefox ad then start again by going through Start>All programs> Mozilla Firefox> Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode). It will start up with the Firefox Safe Mode dialog box. You can as well begin Firefox in Safe Mode via clicking Start, choosing Run and type firefox -safe-mode. After it starts then test your issue.
Re: Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
It seems to me that you are using different theme other than default theme for Firefox 4. If you are making use of a theme except t default Firefox theme:
- At the peak of the Firefox window, click on top of the Tools menu, and choose Add-ons. The Add-ons window will come into view.
- Inside the Add-ons window, choose the Appearance pane.
- Choose the default theme, and afterward click the Use Theme key, to compose Firefox switch to that theme.
- Click Restart Firefox if required.
Re: Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
I think that it is not the behavior of the Firefox 4 but it is the behavior of the third party extensions which you might have downloaded. To decide whether a defective extension is causing trouble, you can put out of action each and every one of your installed extensions: For this first open the Add-on window in your Firefox and select Extensions. Click the extensions which you want to disable and click on Disable button in front of them. To make changes restart the Firefox.
Re: Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
I don’t think that it is the big issue with Firefox 4. I truly enjoyed this new Firefox 4 browser in my Windows 7. We can customize the whole browser according to your needs with simple options present in the Drop down menu. The extensions or add-ons make the Firefox more effective than any other browser. For those who are working in more than 20 or 30 tabs then this new version is a good choice. Yes you can set the mouse buttons as you like to close the tab.
Re: Firefox 4 closes tabs with mouse middle button
In Firefox version 3 also the tabs are closing with mouse middle button or by pressing the scroll wheel. The same is continued to the Firefox 4. There is not a big difference though. However it is a default feature of the Firefox and you cannot customize it. I really like this new feature because it would be great if it closes all the tabs together with just a single click and it would be a great time consuming feature also.
