I have bought this desktop machine with the Phenom II 555 just few months back and I guess the processor has no need to use much power just for running couple of programs on my machine to work on. Specially if these programs can work with bit less voltage of machine. I have been suggested for using the K10STAT which I guess not gonna work for my Phenom II 555. Does anybody has any idea about the K10STAT, How would it be for my processor?
Ok you want your pc to be cool. That is a good way to have the fan not running all the time. K10stat has been made especially for AMD cpus and rmclock will be able to work with most of the Intels. However, there is a bit of tweaking to do. If you have a notebook, this difficulty may be as the bios may limit any exchange to the bus voltages and clock so spleens may be limited.
I never thought it would a problem with newer pcs, but the cpu load event for older games is quite high, but thats may depends on the system's gpu. However, noise looks to be a relative thing. My friends relatively new macbook, which he uses for video editing, makes the fan go off after a short while and wow, the high pitch whine is annoying ever. This old beast stays quiet 2002 most of the time. Even when watching videos moderate sized (hd takes a lot out the cpu).
Purpose In Any case, if you do Have the basic tools, I Suggest That You:
1. Clean out whatever winds That You Can.
2. Apply new thermal paste. You Will Have to take off the CPU Fan and Heatsink.
3. Try undervolting and underclocking your CPU.
4. Go somewhere That Is noisy. I never hear my hard disk turning when i am at the library, to first thing in the Morning ouch!
Overclocking is a very well-liked way to amplify the performance of a CPU. In most cases here, both clock and core voltage (Vcore) to be raised to the processor.
