Computer will not recognize DVD
I have a copy of a DVD that my computer will not recognize, but it plays on other computers. I have tried on HP's and Dells and it plays. My laptop is a Dell, but it does not recognize the disc. I have tried it using an external disc player, with no luck. Any suggestions?

Was it working fine before? If yes than there might be some problem with your DVD drive driver. You need to check it from Device Manager. If it is shwoing yellow mark than simply update the drivers, it should work. For more help regarding the same, just checkout these:

Yes, it was working before. I will check for updates when I get home this evening. Then I will give you an update.
Thanks

Also, the same DVD works on another laptop, but take an awfully long time to find the files.
Re: Computer will not recognize DVD
First of all, you need to tell us what is the make/model your dell computer as well as the dvd drive? There are firmware updates on the Dell downloads but you need the exact model number, to see if one of the firmware updates is applicable to your dvd drive. The description of the drive in the Device Manager will have this info. This way after updating the firmware of the dvd drive you can recheck with the same dvd whether it is working or not.
