VGA Driver not working in MSI CR400.

Hi, I am facing problem with VGA driver of MSI CR400.i installed windows XP operating system with service pack 2 on my CR400.the main problem is the VGA drivers comes with this CV400 is for windows vista. So for that I downloaded the NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G for windows XP 32 bit. And I try to install this in my CR400 but it’s not installing. It shows me error no hardware supported by this driver. So I am not able to understand this problem. I tried to search on internet about this problem but I did not get that much require information. MSI only provides drives for windows vista. So which driver I have to use which will support this windows XP operating system. All replies will be appreciated.

Hi CR4OO MSI notebook is a very new model. So its XP compatibility test is not yet done. I am using CR600 and I am using windows XP on this CR600. According to me you can easily run window XP on this notebook. Because the CR400 and CR600 has the same configuration .this both notebook has the same chip set. You can download the VGA driver for CR600 and CR700 from the internet. I hope this information will help you to solve your driver problem. Just try with these drivers and please let me know its working or not.

Hi I am using CR700 and I can run windows XP on it. If the VGA driver doesn’t work it means that your device instance ID is not matching with the drivers. Can you tell me your device instance ID? If you don’t know from where to find this ID then go into your device manager of windows XP and then click on the detail tab of the display adapter. From there you can find device instance ID. I don’t have CR400 so I cannot check this ID. I hope you will tell me so I can try to give you solution on it.

Hi thank you for your quick reply. First I will download this VGA driver for CR700 and then I will tell you it’s working or not. But I am also facing problem with the Bluetooth and wifi. I think CR400 is made for vista only. My device instance ID is
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_086F&SUBSYS_101A1462&REV_B1\4&37DE7142&0&0080
Can anyone find what the problem it? I am not able to find solution on it. Please help me. Thank you.

Hi, I checked your device instance ID and its not listed in the driver’s INF file. So I think it’s not installed properly like the driver from nVidi’s website. From nVidia’s website you can try the original NVMI.INF file with new modified NVMI.INF file by using your device instance ID. You can download this NVIM.INf file from internet and you can easily modify this NVIM file. After doing these changes you will get a warning message from windows. It will say that your driver is not signed because NVIM.INF file is modified. But you can install it. Please let me know it works or not I am trying to get more information on this driver.

Hi I think this information will help you. Even I was facing the same problem but I solved this. On internet you will get VGA driver for MSI CR400.in Google type VGA driver for CR400.and from there you will get VGA XP driver download this driver and install it in your MSI CV400.after downloading this driver modified your NVIM.INF file. I hope it will work if it’s not working I will suggest you other some drivers which is fit for your CR400. I am waiting for your reply.
