Hi I hope someone can help me. I've just been given a free Samsung GT S5620 touch screen mobile phone, and the language is set to Croatian. I've looked at the English user guide on line, but can't find any mention of how to change the language setting. I am an IT duffer, so any helpful hints need to be idiotproof for me to understand them. Thanks in anticipation. Have a good weekend.
I have never used any of Samsung's phone, hence am not much familiar with its settings. But, its sure that GT S5620 has English language inbuilt and to set the english as default, there is some setting for the same. I eveb dont have the manual to help you out :no: Anyways, you have the same, just checkout properly, go step by step and it will be done.
Hi Namcham, thanks for your quick reply. I have read the manual/user guide from cover to cover and there is no mention of language settings. I have just phoned Samsung's helpline and they didn't know how to do it either. They said they would find out and call me back. Clearly, it is not a simple procedure. I am sure it must be possible, but no-one seems to know how to do it.
I think that you will have to update your mobile phone firmware, so download it from here and after updating the phone, it might be possible for you to change the language settings. You can even try to hard reset your mobile phone incase of any issues with the following code - *2767*3855#. But before updating or even resetting, you will have to backup your mobile phone so that the data in it wont be lost.
I think you can find that in the phone manual. I found a link of the same. This manual consist of all detailed way to use the phone and customize it as per your need. So there is no requirement to search codes or any other stuff for personalization. The language settings mostly lies under settings option. This is default for many phones. Refer the manual once and then try back. This is a 4.26 MB manual which was released with phone. Check page 32 for this manual for language info.

I found some default Samsung mobile code that you can use to restore your phone settings. Like dialing *#1234# provides you info on the current firmware. The code *2767*3855# mentinoed in the boave post is the correct code to run factory reset. It will restore all phone settings and wipe out the phone/sim data. So take a backup and do that. Second code you can try is *7465625*638*00000000*00000000# or #7465625*638*00000000#.
