my laptop wont shutdown

..my newly bought laptop doesnt turn off even i click shut down..fan is still working and the power led is still on together with hard drive light..
..this problem simultaneously arise with POST error sending message to ME.
..i already go to computer shop in robinson mall..
he said the problem is in my BIOS..
he used some sorts of program to change it..
and he disabled the Quick launch..
and post error sending message to me is solved..
but the point my laptop doesnt shutdown worries me..
because if the problem is already solve why this problem is still present...
...can u help me to solve my problem??
and to take necessary actions... my mother is very frustrated to me because she thought its my fault..


***additional observation****
..my hard drive light turn red twice before my laptop to continue start up...
but the first time i used it its doesnt go red it supposed to be white light..

It might be possible that your system is still running some process and that is why it is unable to shut down. I will advise you to go to the MSCONFIG and disable all process from Startup tab and then restart and shut down respectively. Also run an security program with the updated virus definition and run the same to check for infection into system. So if you can then go through the same and see whether you are getting it work or not.
