Hi Forum, i find it hard to deal with this time to time problem i'm encountering with office compatibility 2007. i came across situation whereby i installed Office Compatibility 2007 on machine with Office pro 2003 and it doesn't work when received file with extension .xlsx .docx etc. and at some point it works and it sound like a guessing game cos i do not have a real soluiton to this. any one with knowledge about this. thanks in advance.
The Compatibility Pack Office 2007 can open, edit, and save documents, workbooks, and presentations in the file formats new to Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint 2007. With the final, any user of Microsoft Office 2000 / XP / 2003 will consequently be able open, edit and save files using the original file formats of Office 2007 that uses the default Open XML (the additions are of the type .docx, .docm .xlsx, .xlsm .pptx, .pptm, etc.). The Compatibility Pack (required for older versions read 2007 and not the reverse) can be downloaded from the Microsoft site ... with explanations that you can read. According to Microsoft, if you are managing any of the following programs, you can acquire an upgrade copy of Office 2007 Professional rather than the full-price version: Microsoft Works 6.0 to 10 or Works Suite 2000 to 2006 or later, any 2000 to 2007 Office program or suite or any Office XP suite, with the exemption of Office XP Student and Teacher.
