Hello,
I have a MTNL internet connection. I have taken a plan of Rs 999 which is of 1 mbps. I was getting nice sped during the 1 st month and the speed was up to 1.2 mbps. Now i am facing the problem of slow speed and the speed i am getting is just half the speed which i was getting earlier. Does any one have any idea related to this problem? I need your help on this issue. I am providing the router settings below-
SNR Margin: 25.9 42.0 db
Line Attenuation: 25.0 11.3 db
Please help.
I would advise you to make the use of the internet download manager for downloading purpose. If you will use this, then it will definitely increase your internet speed. Even i am also making the use of the internet download manager. Before i was getting the speed of 0.54 mbps and when i installed this software, then my internet speed went up to 0.70 mbps. So try this out and see the difference you get. You will be getting this software free from the internet. Hope it helps you.
I think that you are facing this slow speed problem because there must be lot of cookies accumulated in your browsers memory, so would need to remove those cookies from your browser. For removing the cookies follow the steps provided below.
For Firefox-
- Go to Tools option in the menu bar of the browser
- Then go to options field
- Go to the privacy tab
- Inside this there will be option for deleting the cookies and click OK.
- Close the window
- Close the browser
Now check the speed of your internet. I hope that it will definitely get increased.
You can go with this solution as i have used it on my system.
- First close the browser
- Shut down the system
- Disconnect the modem from the computer
- RESET the modem
- Again make the connection with the machine
- Open the browser and check the speed

Thanks for the reply you gave to me. I have referred all the above replies and i am finding them very much helpful, as my problem is solved now. I have downloaded the internet downloads manager and it is providing me a great speed. I have also tried to delete the cookies from my browser and i think, this has also helped me a bit. So i would like to give my thanks to all those who have spend their precious time in sending me the reply. Even other can go for this solution as they are really helpful one.
