iOS 4.1 kills facetime on specific iPhone 4 units
I am going one through one issue with the iPhone of mine which is not working with the Face Time. I have upgraded to the new iOS 4.1 from the iOS 4.0.2 but after that i have come to know that the Face Time application is deactivated in the device of mine. I have tried to activate the same but unable to do so. My device is shipped from the UAE. Does this causing the issue because of the UAE Carriers? If so please help me with the possible solution to get rid of the issue and activate the Face Value in the iPhone of mine. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about the problem that you are going through but let me tell you that this type of disable FaceTime is coming with the Jailbreak phone which does not support the Face Time as Apple Server refuses the same. I think that the device of yours might be jailbreaked and that is why you are getting this issue. Check for the same and see whether it is jailbreaked or not and also replace it with original with no hack phone.

For that FaceTime is operational, we must also take into account that your SIM card must be formatted MicroSim natively and must not have been cobbled together from a MiniSIM by you to fit your drawer iPhone4.
It is very likely that MicroSim do not have the required characteristics (most likely a micro-program specific to the smooth functioning of FaceTime, you must apply in this case an exchange of your real cons MiniSIM cobbled MicroSim your operator.
Finally, be aware that for the activation of FaceTime, the iPhone will send at least 2 international SMS center activation Apple. If your operator charges you these mailings, you can ask for a refund because they are hidden costs that you do not have to pay. In general operators reimburse without flinching if you made the request to the client.

Using the Restore function for your device is part of standard troubleshooting procedure. Restoring your device will delete all the data from your device, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, calendar information, and any other data. All settings are restored to their factory condition.
Whenever you restore your device, Apple highly recommends that you perform a sync prior to restoring to back up any changes since your last sync. If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Use the following steps to restore your device:
- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed and running before attempting to update.
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
- Select the Summary tab.
- Select the Restore option.
- When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up option (as seen in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not necessary to create another.
