I am having Hp 2730p and i heard that the outdoor screen and indoor screen difference is just a layer over it. They have the same brightness level but the outdoor contrast level is higher. somewhere i read that outdoor screen with 500:1 and indoor with 300:1. How is it possible, Anyway i am looking in outdoor screen since it is not too much expensive.Do you have any knowledge please inform?
I am using Hp 2370p from last two month but i was not knowing that there is an screen option on 2730p. I think my screen looks as good as TC1100. I have purchased this one second hand(used) and the screen seem me to be pretty nice. I am happy that what i have purchased i am satisfied with it. I Know this will not help you. i am sharing my personal experience which i have with 2370p from last two month. This is really a good TPC.
I have search on net and what i found there is three different screen. And they are listed below:
1)Indoor - Samsung SEC - 200:Images looked like washed, poor color and contrast. In sunlight it is hard to see
2)Indoor - BOE Hydis - 240-280: Good contrast, great color. Images look much brighter. Viewable in sunlight. Color better the samsung.
3)Outdoor - BOE Hydis - 200 - 210:Good outdoor but for other purpose not too bright, great color and contrast. Better under shaded sun.
But i will prefer Indoor hydis because the extra brightness makes a lot of difference.
I think the HP does not Know which indoor panel is installed that's why HYDIS and samsung are used. The most of the review is on the screen quality of HP . I have sent them my regular indoor for repair and they gave me HYDIS outdoor. I suggest you to get indoor/outdoor HYDIS no matter. It seem that samsung uses more battery. I got 20% more battery life with HYDIS .So see to it you got the HYDIS one when you buy new from HP.
