Brightness controls not working after wake from sleep on dv7-4065dx?

I have bought the HP pavilion dv7-4065dx since last six month. I was really happy with this new laptop. But recently I am having some problem that after sleep mode its screen is at full brightness. Which is not adjustable. On this laptop brightness can be adjusted by using keys ALT+F1/F2.how to come out of this problem as this new model of the laptop. So please suggest me.

I think there is some problem with your BIOS setting.You need to check your BIOS setting rather than setting your laptop's brightness. this will b your solution . If you are not getting the solution then contact to your nearest HP gallery to solve this problem. They may be able to solve your problem better.

As you have brightness problem with your laptop and you are using the newest in the market. I think this may be due to some new software or the hardware installation. I will tell you to reinstall them properly they might be not installed properly. This may be your solution for the mentioned problem. Try reinstalling them again may help you to solve the problem.

I think you are right I have recently installed the ATI Catalyst 10.6 drivers. After that I have got this problem on my laptop. I think this driver is not useful because it not works with these new laptop but the others are using them. bu I really want 10.6 because it fixed the loading times for BFBC2 for me. Also I have been experiencing lots of lag after this upgrade, which I never had in 10.5.

I have the same problem with my laptop (display brightness) after installation of ATI catalyst 10.6. This happens to me only after waking from sleep and then I have to restart the computer to enable the slider in power options so I can change the brightness. I'm using win7 32bit and mobility radeon 3650. After reverting back to older drivers screen brightness works OK.

The solution for this issue is just set your Windows to "Do Nothing" at the time when lid is closed. After that close the lid and now open it. This fixes my problem of display brightness. It takes about 5 seconds to a complete reboot. which takes a minute or so. It hasn't even done it since I changed that setting. I wait for it to go completely to sleep before I shut the lid. I think this will work.
