No power icon in the taskbar
On the Acer Aspire I have Windows 7, which was recently installed on it. The problem is that on the laptop I can not find the power icon in the taskbar. I have tried enabling it by going in the properties of the taskbar, but I can not do it. The power icon is turned off and the button that allows to turn it on is grayed out. I've checked it with the net-book plugged in and on battery power and have the same issue. Any suggestions?
Re: No power icon in the taskbar
Well, have you ever tried rebooting the system. Sometimes a simple restart may restore the icon for you. If that is not possible then you can go for the below method.
- Right click on the Taskbar
- Then after this click on Properties.
- Make a click on the Notification Area tab.
- Then check or uncheck the options as per the requirement.
Re: No power icon in the taskbar
You can try the Local Group Policy for enabling the power icon in the taskbar.
- First of all open the Local Group Policy Editor.
- Then in the left pane, click on User Configuration>Administrative Templates>Start Menu>Taskbar.
- Now for the power icon, in the right pane, right click on Remove the battery meter and click on Properties.
- To Enable the Power Icon, dot should be disabled or it should be not configured. After this click on OK.
- At last close the Local Group Policy Editor.
Re: No power icon in the taskbar
This solution is to be followed only when the above two fails. Actually I was about to post somewhat similar solutions, but yes my colleagues have done a wonderful job by giving the easiest solutions. I am happy for them. Do this after the failure of the above two. Here it is:
- Download this first Enable_Power.reg
- Click on Save, and save the .reg file.
- Right click on the .reg file and click on Merge.
- Now click on the Run button in the Security Warning pop-up.
- After this click on Continue, Yes, and then OK when prompted.
- When you are done with this the .reg file can be deleted.
- At last log off and log on, or restart the computer to apply the changes.
