What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
My friend just bought a netbook with Windows 7 Starter and I can not change my wallpaper, you have solutions to this problem. I am planning to upgrade to Windows 7. But I am not able to figure out what is the difference between them and why the charges are so different. Usually if I leave the hardware, software wise this netbook has cost me quiet high. For which edition should I go for.
Re: What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
Currently, the Starter Edition contains strict limitations for the machine with the option to purchase a license. The processor should not exceed 2 GHz and must have only one heart. The RAM can not exceed 1 GB. The screen size should not exceed 10.2 inches, unlike Windows XP and Vista that allowed a slab up to 12.1 inches and the hard disk should not exceed 250 GB on a classic or 64GB for an SSD.
Re: What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
There is no support for that in Windows 7 Starter. There are lots of features which are not supported in Windows 7 Starter Edition. But in that place you can use any other specialized software like Starter Background Changer to change the wallpaper. The program does not work with some machines Asus brand. On these machines the program eee Docking creates issue with the functioning of Starter Background Changer.
Re: What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
The missing features in Windows 7 Starter can not be explained either by a hardware limitation. While on the other hand Windows 7 is a full operating system with all the features and support you want. The primary purpose of a netbook is to be cheap and tiny, not to be effective. You can do basic work on that like mailing and office work but not much. I would rather go for Windows 7 Home Basic.

Windows 7 helps create a home network and sharing all your photos, videos and favorite music. You can even watch in real time and replay, pause, rewind or record TV shows whenever and wherever you want. To find the best entertainment on your computer, use Windows 7 Home Premium. There is lots of different support provided on the various operating system. You can rea the differentiation on the official site.

Re: What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
In windows 7 there are lots of limitations. Like Windows 7 Starter is authorize to execute three applications at the same time. A limit that can quickly be achieved with particular applications running in the background. Microsoft announced and have taken account of feedback from its partners and customers asking for a richer user experience for small configurations of netbooks.
Re: What is the difference between Windows 7 and Windows 7 Starter
Because the license of Windows 7 Starter Edition is more expensive than Windows XP. Microsoft has always said that the Home Premium was recommended for netbooks, the starter being designed for low-end machines. The Home Premium is also more expensive than the starter, and manufacturers want to lower the cost of machinery as possible.
