Windows Media Encoder 9 Series streaming problem
Hi there
I have an internet radio station that has been streaming for just over a month. I am using Windows Media Encoder 9 Series ( version 9.00.00.2980) to push the signal to our streaming company.
My problem is that 2-3 times a day, the Encoder will stop encoding. There is no error message. It just stops sending the signal and has to be started again. This is very frustrating as I cannot be around 24/7 to monitor the station. Does anyone have any tips to correct this disconnect problem? Maybe if this Encoder disconnects, is there a way to make it automatically start again?
thanks for the help! Rob
Re: Windows Media Encoder 9 Series streaming problem
“The following updates have been made to the Microsoft Windows Media Encoder (WME) 9 Series:
You can try to reconnect to a Windows Media Services 9 Series-based server after an error occurs during push distribution.”
Push distribution behavior
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit , and then click .
2. Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Media Tools\Encoder\App\Properties
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Key
4. Create a key that is named ReconnectPushOnError.
5. To enable the fix, set the (Default) value to 1. To disable the fix, set the (Default) value to 0.
Note: The install package automatically creates and then sets the ReconnectPushOnError value to 1.
