HIS 5870 vs. Gigabyte 5870 iCool SOC
I'm torn between the choice of these two graphs, which one you would choose and why. And they are HIS 5870 and Gigabyte 5870 iCool SOC. :shifty: The differences that make me choose HIS 5870 iCool are several, first temperatures are second best in this and the price, worth 100 € less. An advantage in favor of the Gigabyte 5870 SOC, the limit of Core and Overclocking Memos, we do not have limits, they are over 2000 Mhz and 2000 Mhz Core Memos. These limits in the HIS are over 900 MHz Core and 1300 Mhz in Memos, but is easily editable with the RBE and could be higher according to needs. Hoping that you will share your opinions.
Re: HIS 5870 vs. Gigabyte 5870 iCool SOC
Without a doubt choose the HIS, my reasons are :
- More expensive
- More fresh
- With 900MHz core is more than enough for the OC, if you go from there you can have problems.
Re: HIS 5870 vs. Gigabyte 5870 iCool SOC
Oc 900 for a bit rather 5870es, Gadin, if you want to go for serious oc the SOC, even if you have liquid cooling, you may get almost the same values with the HIS, I have a HIS, but with design I have referred and water and makes GHz in the core without any problems but from there the plot thickens a bit but you can still raise a little more.

Men, of course I want to do OC reaching the limits of the graph , that's what I want to buy me. The SOC is a better option, this thinking about designing for it, with better quality components, two fans, etc. .. Worth 100 € more than the HIS, with around € 488, but is the best market of 5870 by far. Doubted by the HIS temps were better, but comparing overall, Gigabyte SOC wins by difference. Thanks for the suggestions!! :worthy:

The MK-13 is very good heatsink. Indeed, the Lightning MSI is also very good choice for OC. :thumbup1: If, indeed, the MSI is the best assemblers Graphics, have a very worked Bios without limits usually Mhz. Out of curiosity, I found a Bios of the SOC, opened it and Surprise, in the limitations section of Core and Memos, was around 2000 MHz, and can upload.
