Gigabyte GTX 260 S.O.C or GTX 275
At the Radeon HD 5870, DirectX 11 and the first information about Fermi , Gigabyte is launching two new graphics cards based on nVIDIA GT200 . The mark has in fact recently announced new GeForce GTX 260 and GTX 275 , which usher in a new line called Super Overclock or SOC for friends, but also the most powerful, namely the GeForce GTX 275 Overclock Super ( GV - N275SO - 18I ). What is it worth compared to a GTX 275 classic? Is it really more efficient, and what is the impact of overclocking on consumption and heat generation ?
Re: Gigabyte GTX 260 S.O.C or GTX 275
The Gigabyte GTX 275 Super Overclock and the first thing that stands out is obviously its design. Contrary to MSI GTX 275 Lightning which has a cooling house, the GTX 275 SOC incorporates nVIDIA reference design and therefore has the cooler found on all standard GTX 275 . Only the sticker and output configuration change since in the rear, instead of two DVI and HDTV output hatibuelle , this card provides us with a DVI connector, a VGA and an HDMI connector . It is always entitled to two PCI Express power plugs 6 pin SPDIF connector to route the sound via HDMI , and of course the two SLI ports . Physically , therefore , this card does not bring anything new . But strictly speaking , they laugh a bit of physics , and what interests us is its frequency and its performance.

Side frequencies precisely , Gigabyte has not done things by half since the original GPU clocked at 633 MHz has been boosted to 715 MHz and shaders spend on them from 1404 MHz to 1550 MHz . Memory is no exception and going from 1134 MHz to 1260 MHz . But that's not all because if one is still entitled to the bus- 448bit GDDR3 memory , Gigabyte has doubled the amount shipped in the passing of 896-1792 MB.
Re: Gigabyte GTX 260 S.O.C or GTX 275
The Super GTX275 Overclock is known as the GV - reference N275SO - 18I and its appearance is identical to that of other GeForce GTX 275 since it embeds the reference cooler recommended by NVIDIA . Nevertheless, the GTX 275 is quite different from others because it has a share of 1792 MB of GDDR3 (double what was usually right ) and on the other hand its frequencies have been revised upward . They spend so 633/1404/1134 MHz for the core / shader / memory 715/1550/1260 MHz.

Continue with the test of the GTX 275 Super Overclock Gigabyte offers us our fellow Revioo . While the graphics chipset the GeForce GTX 275 "classical "works at 633 MHz , that of the GTX 275 Overclock Super rotates at 715 MHz. Shaders spend their side of 1404 MHz to 1550 MHz . Finally, the memory typically clocked at 1134 MHz to 1260 MHz works here .

More interesting than an HD 5850 or not, we can only congratulate Gigabyte for its new range of Super Overclock . When you think overclocking graphics cards , Gigabyte is indeed not the first manufacturer that comes to mind and we generally think of brands like EVGA or Gainward shining in this area . Yet, with its new line SOC Gigabyte shows us clearly what he is capable cards with noticeably quicker , and without even changing the cooler . Imagine what that could provide SOC with a cooler house.
