How to Jailbreak iOS 4 with Sn0wbreeze 1.6 on iPhone 3GS

To jailbreak your iPhone 3G or 2G iPod Touch on Windows, you have the possibility of using the software Redsn0w the DevTeam. Recently, iH8sn0w published an update of its software Sn0wbreeze to create a custom firmware for iPhone and iPod Touch 2G 3G/3GS.

Required:

• Sn0wbreeze 1.6.2
• The 4.0 firmware on your hard drive
• iTunes 9.2

Compatibility:

• iPhone 3G
• iPhone 3G (former bootrom)
• iPod Touch 2G

To use Sn0wbreeze, different problems arise because you must have a jailbroken iPhone with firmware 3.1.2 - 3.1.3 - 4.0GM.

Tutorial for Jailbreaking iOS 4 with Sn0wbreeze 1.6 on iPhone 3GS

1. Sn0wbreeze Run as administrator (right click on the icon and "Run as administrator") and connect your iPhone / iPod Touch to the PC.
   
2. Select Expert Mode and then click the blue arrow.

3. At this time, you will be asked to click on Browse to select the official firmware of your device that you just downloaded. The software automatically detects your iPhone / iPod Touch and then click the blue arrow.
   
4. To continue creating your custom firmware, click General.

12. Now turn the iPhone into DFU mode:
    
    • Turn off the device when connected to PC
    • Simultaneously press Home + Power for 10 seconds.
    • Release the power button while still pressing the Home button.
13. ITunes will launch and found an iPhone in recovery mode.
    
14. Click the "Restore" button while pressing the Shift button on your keyboard.
    
15. Select the custom firmware created with Sn0wbreeze.
    
16. Wait for the restoration & enjoy!
