Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
I have purchased a Lenovo X200 laptop about 2 months back. The laptop is installed with Windows XP. The laptop worked fine for sometime but now the laptop gives random blue screen when used. The blue screen occurs any application is started or while the system is kept idle. I am not able to figure out what is causing the problem. Is this issue related to any hardware failure? Please help in solving the issue. Thanks in advance.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
Blue screen error is generally associated with the operating system of the computer. If the operating system installed on the computer is not working properly, the system will give blue screen error randomly. Therefore insert the installation disk of the operating system in the drive and boot the system. Select the Windows repair option and let the procedure complete. After the repair procedure is complete, see if the same error is faced or not.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
I feel that the hard drive of the laptop is failing which is causing the system to display the blue screen error repeatedly. The operating system of the computer is stored on the hard drive of the computer hence if the hard drive of the is faulty, the system will not be able to access the data and will give blue screen error. Therefore I will suggest that you get the hard drive of the computer checked.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
I was also facing the same problem with Lenovo laptop. I searched for all the possible solution for the Blue screen error and finally found out that the problem was associated to the system files "NETw5v32.sys and ntoskrnl.exe" which were corrupt and hence I had to replace the system files on the computer. After replacing the system files on the computer, the problem was solved. Use the recovery disks provided with the laptop to get the system files replaced.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
If the system is not able to access the system RAM, it will give the blue screen error while working. If you can open the laptop, open it and then remove the RAM chips. Clean the connecting terminals and replace the RAM chips again. If there are multiple RAM chips then try booting the system using a Single RAM chip at a time. If for a particular ram chip, if the system does not boot then discard the RAM chip as it is faulty.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
The motherboard of the laptop is responsible for performing all the functions associated to it. If the motherboard of the laptop is faulty, such problems are bound to be faced. Therefore I will suggest that you get the motherboard checked. If the motherboard is faulty, get it replaced. Once the motherboard is replaced, You will not face the same problem.
Re: Lenovo X200 random blue screen problem
Thanks for helping out. Restoring the windows really helped in solving the problem. I think there were some operating system files missing on the laptop which were replaced after doing a Windows restore. Now the laptop does not give any blue screen error while using the laptop.
